What is EFT?

EFT stands for Emotional Freedom Technique, you may have heard of the technique described as tapping.

The technique is a powerful method of feeling better about any area of your life that you have any discomfort or upset with.

It is a holistic way of clearing emotional, mental and physical issues based on the understanding that many issues have emotional origins underlying them. It is an emotional version of acupuncture, without needles. You stimulate release points by tapping on them. Typically, there are belief changes / cognitive shift after the emotional charge has gone.

Emotional Freedom Technique

An example of how emotions sometimes affect the body –
Have you ever been anxious resulting in a headache or had dread that you have felt in your stomach ?

To give you an example one client had an issue that upset her so much she could not tell me what happened without crying. EFT took away the charge of the issue and enabled her to tell the story of the event fully. She realised that the issue didn’t matter but it triggered a feeling from her divorce, which was connected to financial matters. We then worked together on this core issue.

I am classed as a student practitioner having completed my Level 1 & 2 EFT training with EFTi. This involves me completing mentored sessions and submitting written case studies. At points I may ask that my mentors join our zoom sessions to review. If this is the case I will seek consent ahead of time.

EFT can be used to help anything, here are some of the issues that I have experience in working with:

  • Fear of Failure
  • Feeling of Powerlessness
  • Judgement
  • Parenting
  • Family relationships
  • Headaches
  • Neck ache
  • Work irritations
  • Problem line managers
  • Historic childhood memories
  • Traumatic experiences
  • Bereavement
  • Inability to lose weight
